Preseason came to a close last Saturday and the 2017 season started with an exciting League 1 Cup victory for Oxford RL over Coventry Bears. The tough strength and conditioning sessions and the 7Rifles squad experience have definitely molded the group into a spirited unit.
Can you help the boys kick on this season? The Blues are calling for help with player sponsorship to do just that and the Hadley Property Group are backing Blues winger Harrison Brough. Harrison is a new signing this season and has a good rugby league background having progressed through the London Broncos academy system and has now settled into the Blues well.
Brough commented “I’ve joined Oxford as I know Chris Baxter the assistant coach and believe in him a lot. The atmosphere in the squad is so different to where I was last year. It’s tough and challenging but that’s what we need to improve. We’ve all got to know each other quickly and weekends like the army bonding have helped massively. The team spirit is good with the Blues and I can only see it getting better.”
Hadley Property Group is a privately-owned, residential-led property developer. Their highly skilled team specialise in progressive, sustainable approaches to the delivery of much-needed housing in Central and Greater London.
Few developers operate with such breadth in the London area as their work covers residential-led mixed use schemes, large-scale regeneration projects and prime, central London developments.
Brough added “I’d like to say a big thank you to Hadley Property group and Brian Higgins especially for sponsoring me this season. The sponsorship helps the club on all fronts to improve the team and bring rugby league to Oxfordshire. I will be doing my best to represent both the Blues and Hadley professionally.”
Blues CEO Adrian Smith told the website “I would like to add both mine and the club’s official thanks to Hadley for their support, this is a real boost. It’s terrific to get companies in London supporting young local talent and Harrison is showing himself to be just that, he’s a good addition to our team this year.”
Smith added “Harrison is not on his own in the team; we have plenty of talented players in need of sponsors and this is a good way to get on board with the Club and also to help build awareness of your company regionally and nationally. League 1 is the most geographically spread league in British rugby league – Yorkshire, Lancashire, Cumbria, Midlands, London and the South and Toronto, Canada are its boundaries!”
