Oxford are delighted to announce that The London Rugby League Foundation are proud player sponsors of front rower Anthony Cox.
Coxy joined the Blues this season and is a product of the London rugby league scheme so this makes it a little more special. The London Foundation is a charitable trust established to increase participation and engagement of rugby league in London and the surrounding counties.
Anthony said “I’m grateful for the support from the foundation and I’d like to say a big thank you to Dan Steel. I’m actually involved with the foundation in coaching and working with Dan growing the rugby league community in London. It’s something I enjoy and am very proud of being part of.”
The Foundation works with 20 community clubs and delivers high quality coaching to over 5000 children in over 100 primary and secondary schools in and around Greater London, amongst other programmes. The primary aim is to increase participation in rugby league, but in doing so drive physical and mental wellbeing, individual development and support social cohesion in the communities in which they work.
Anthony concluded by saying “We have made a good start at Oxford and it has been a good experience. There’s a lot of work to be done to keep the momentum going and I’ll be doing my best to make that happen and make the London Foundation proud.”
